Disclosure rules for listed companies could be finalized in the next six months, Ge Chazhong, an official affiliated with SEPA, told China Daily. Environmental disclosure and inspection requirements have already been tightened for companies applying for their initial public offer (IPO) of shares. Companies going public are required by China’s existing securities regulations to guarantee disclosure of truthful environmental details together with financial records in IPOs 36 months prior to floating. 2007-12-26 19:21 BEIJING, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) — The Great Hall of the People, which was required to play an avant-garde role in China’s energy-saving and emission-reducing efforts, has reduced its use of water, electricity and gas for nearly three years.
Located on the western edge of Tiananmen Square, the hall is among the structures built in the capital city to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China in 1959. The landmark building’s consumption of electricity, water and gas was reduced by four percent, 14 percent and four percent respectively in 2006 compared with 2005, said the building manager, adding they would be able to meet the 2007 target. 2007-12-26 19:19 Dec.25 - The second phase of ticket sales for the 2008 Olympic Games will close on Sunday with more than 340, 000 people having booked over two million tickets, the Beijing Organizing Committee (BOCOG) said on Monday.
“By 12:00 Monday we have received more than 340,000 orders, and about 90 per cent of the orders were over the Internet and the rest through Bank of China branches,” BOCOG said in a statement posted on its website.
